The brief

Comms agency Oxygen Strategy commissioned a Scott Ramsey Photography crew to capture a one-day rare-disease summit at the Francis Crick Institute — a two-part programme co-hosted by Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease and PCD Research, filling the room with clinicians, scientists, regulators and VIPs, among them former Prime Minister Lord (David) Cameron. I led the video: roaming videographer and lead editor in a four-person crew.

The work

A live day with VIP attendance, pristine audio essential and no second takes. I roamed for vox pops with speakers and attendees, covered the panels, fireside chats and Q&As, and gathered B-roll of the venue, branding and atmosphere — running my own backup audio alongside the fixed conference cameras and the PA feed. Alongside me: a fixed multi-camera conference videographer, a roaming reportage photographer, and a creative director coordinating the edit remotely.

The edit

Through October and November I cut the full suite — long and short highlight reels (two creative options for the client to choose from), eleven vox pops, 30/60/90-second social and web edits, vertical reels for mobile, and a named, subtitled post-event address from Lord Cameron. Every version was reviewed, titled and bookended to the clients' brand, and refined until approved.

The result

A complete, ready-to-publish content suite for two pharma and research clients — drawn from a single day's coverage and signed off by both with no further feedback.
